For the next seven years, digital photography is forecasted to remain steady as a job opportunity for those that are interested in this field. While the competition is expected be strong amongst photographers and the demand for jobs will fall below the number of photographers there are expected to emerge in this field.

The most successful photographers exhibit traits in being creative, able to adapt rapidly to technology changes, and management proficiency. There are digital photography business courses available to help you gain the competitive edge. You will be able to start your own full or part-time business when you develop a good business sens and keep up-to-date on the rapidly changing technology.

There are many areas that you can pursue in a digital photography home business. I will cover a few of the areas for digital photography businesses.

Real Estate
Each year there are millions of homes sold in the US and real estate agents use at least one picture to advertise the property online, in magazines, in brochures, and in newspapers. As a digital photographer you could earn $50 to $100 a house working with real estate agents or others involved in real estate.

Portraits
There are many locations that you can use for a photo shoot. Many people like to have a professional portrait done of themselves for various reasons. The common charge for a shoot is $100 per hour and an additional $50 to $100 for prints and enlargements. There is also a strong demand for pet and children's portraits.

Sports
Being a photographer for sporting events can be profitable and exhilarating. As a sports photographer, you can submit your photos to event organizations, to participants and publications, local news agencies, and a variety of other types of news and sporting sites. The local minor league teams could pay $50 to $200 for team photos with extra sales potential for prints, premium items such as photo trading cards, T-shirts, and reprint. Do not forget your local school teams either as there is a hidden potential for a photo shoot for these teams.

Commercials
Every year there are billions of dollars spent on product advertisements. Commercial photography is normally limited to the more experienced photographers who can charges as much as $2,500 a day for high end product shots. There is also an opportunity for those that can also do shoots for the local chamber of commerce for their websites, local businesses for websites, and a wide array of other ways to earn as a commercial photographer.

Glamour
There are many beauty salons, hair dressers, and modeling agencies that use photos to help promote their services and products. While it is not uncommon for them to pay more than $150 an hour for promotional shoots with images that can be used for brochures, online advertising, point of sale materials, and business cards. There is an opportunity for those that wish to have photos of their staff and customers photographed for in house promotions or for conventions.

Stock Photography
There are agencies that specialize in stock photos that they resell to business for promotional purposes. For you to have your work listed with them they normally require a minimum submission of 300 to 500 photographs. As a stock photographer you can submit photos such as travel photos, landscape, people, animals, still life, and various other types of images that will appeal to their customers. The commissions for stock photographers can range from $5 to $100 for images that their customers purchase through their agencies.

News and Events
Many local newspapers, magazines, and newscasts often look for interesting human interest stories and pictures. The requirements for each of the types of periodicals will vary, but it is possible to have your pictures published, receive credit as a tag line, and possibly a payment for your photo.

Wedding Photography
There are photographers who will establish a wedding package of 25 to 40 prints that will retail for $1,500 to $3000. Normally this a type of shoot will take two days to work, the first day is to shoot the event and the second day is to process and prepare the album.

Graduation
There are parents who wish to have a professional photograph took of their graduate walking down the aisle and across the stage at graduation. The charges for photos could range from $5 to $10.

The web has been abuzz since some site leaked out images of Reebok’s new Spring 2011 Collection, including the successor (and a worthy one at that) to the Insta Pump Fury, the Insta Pump Fury Superlite.  Now as market week and trade shows get underway around the world, additional photos have surfaced. Aside from the previously seen Red/White/Black, Black/Red, and the Pump Fury signature colors, Black/Red/Electric Green, a new color has emerged, in Purple/Black/Blue.  No exact release date announced thus far. Right, word of mouth. As in, “Hey, I know this photographer who will shoot for free…” Congratulations! You’ve just become known all over town as the guy who doesn’t expect to be paid for his work. Maybe if you’re lucky, you’ll even get a client who offers to buy you lunch.

After making the decision to schedule your boudoir photography session it's time to start preparing. Here are a few tips to ensure you get the best boudoir portraits.

1. Makeup

It is strongly recommended to hire a professional makeup artist. It will add to the overall cost of the boudoir portraits but will be well worth it in the long run. You may find that some boudoir photographers include a professional makeup artist in your boudoir package. And others photographers will be able refer you to a makeup artist.

Remember to allow at least 30 – 45 minutes if you're having your make up applied or an hour and a half if you are having your hair styled as well.

If you choose to do your makeup yourself here are a couple of pointers:

- Eye makeup and blush should be fairly heavily applied. Try and be neat and precise. Boudoir photography tends to be unforgiving.
- Don't use frosted lipstick! It appears too light in photographs.
- Keep eye shadow a shade lighter than normal to accentuate your eyes.
- Lipstick should be at least a shade deeper, particularly if you have dark hair or are going to wear dark clothing.
- Use powder based make-up to maintain a matte finish on your skin.

Clothing and Props

Boudoir, or erotic photography, is often associated with nudity or lingerie. As a matter of fact, a lot of men find their wives dressed as it's also known in their gear to be more attractive than dressing in lingerie. Naturally you should to stick with something you are comfortable with.

The choice of props and clothing for your boudoir portraits are literally endless. Some interesting possibilities are:

His favorite sports team jersey, some tools of his trade, his uniform or a favorite button down shirt. Or maybe something a little more classy like a slinky cocktail dress, a fur coat, a blouse, gloves and hats and of course the old favorites stockings and high heels.

Perhaps sexy choices like a bodystocking, colorful panties and bra, boy shorts, way too tight cut-offs – actually anything tight and anything transparent! If you have any tasteful photographic nudes you want to copy, bring the photos along. Non traditional items are also very effective for boudoir photography.

Some goodies are a bath robe or towel, tight shorts, biker shorts, tight or short tank tops, tees with rips or holes, anything leather, scarves, mini skirts, your slumming at home outfit, boxer shorts, the tools of your trade, workout outfit, cowboy boots and hat, and anything he has given you.

Some great ideas for boudoir portrait props include most home or romantic items, flowers, sun glasses, scarves, beads, wine glasses or teddy bears. Try and consider your choice of these items from his perspective. This is a gift for him after all. Don't be afraid to be daring and creative.

When thinking boudoir, don't forget about the details, check for labels on new items and look out for tears or holes, unless you want them there, of course!

Boudoir photography takes a bit of planning and time. So consider these other tips for your big day.

Relax.

Have something light to eat before the shoot and try and have a bottle of water or juice handy. If you feel a little nervous, ask your sister or girlfriend to sit in with you. You could even split the session with them!

Manage your time.

There is nothing that ruins the atmosphere of boudoir photography quicker than being stressed. Leave yourself enough time to have your hair and makeup done and to get home in good time to complete any last minute errands.

Try to wear loose fitting clothes that don't leave marks.

These take awhile to clear and can waste valuable time. Button up shirts will leave your makeup and hair intact and clear deodorants allow for a larger range of the poses that make for great boudoir portraits.

Taking boudoir portraits is a great gift for the man in your life, it's for his eyes only. And just remember, boudoir photography is erotic, glamor, and naughty all rolled up into one…have fun!

Hilton, in what seemed like an effort to brag or show how her followers how popular she is, tweeted the following:

First off let me apologize for the photo quality. I only had a few short minutes to spend the Streak and it happened to be in a dark room that looked like Batman decorated it. So the photos aren’t the best, but this is just a taste. We’ll have a proper set soon.

Anyway, I happened to have an EVO 4G with me and I must say that the Dell Streak makes it look like normal-sized phone. There is a large difference in the overall size even though the screen size is only .7-inches larger. It’s as thin as the Evo, but it still feels a bit too large to be a phone. However, that thought might be premature as it might be something you need to use to appreciate. The whole package feels solid, refined and wonderful. It’s clearly not for everyone given its large size, but a lot of people will probably love it.

I just bought a new Dell Inspiron 1545 laptop. I absolutely love it! However, my cursor seems to get stuck. It’s only at times. I have to reboot and then it works again. I don’t want to return it. I hate returning things. I hope it’s just a quick fix I can do. I did try installing Microsoft Office, but it actually was already on the computer. I also installed Photoshop and Adobe Premier. A Product Review of the 14.1″ Sony VAIO VGN-CR420E/N Laptop

The Sony VAIO VGN-AR730E/B is marketed as an entertainment laptop, and that's what I'm going to use it for. I'm going to shed some light on its gaming performance, as well as video performance. I'll even tell you who will get the most out of this notebook as well as where it would be a total waste of space. But first thing is first, let me tell you the basics.

Hardware:

Processor: 2.10 GHz “Penryn” Intel Core 2 Duo T8100

Screen Size: 17″

RAM: 3GB (expandable all the way up to 4GB)

Storage Space: 320GB (via two 160GB hard drives)

Optical Drive: BluRay ROM with integrated dual layer DVD +R/-R and CD R/RW

Imaging: Integrated 1.3 megapixel web cam

Dimensions: 16.4″ x 11.8″ x 1.32″

Weight: 8.3lbs

Graphics Card: Nvidia GeForce 8400M graphics card (has its own dedicated 256MB of VRAM)

At first glance this Sony VAIO VGN-AR730E/B looks like your standard 17″ notebook. It is black and sleek in the tradition of Sony and their Vaio notebooks. It has a killer screen that eats glare for lunch. It is a beautiful machine.

A lot of the reason this notebook has such exception video quality is the great (well… great for a laptop) video card that has been included. It isn't integrated sharing the computer's RAM, it in fact has its own 256MB of video ram and in cases of graphically intensive material can scavenge ram from the system resources so you get the best of both worlds.

Once you take the controls it will just go and not stop. The BluRay feature is incredible, and to me sells this notebook. We've all heard the news that BluRay has won the format war so this is definitely a perk, especially for at “multimedia” notebook. The screen is capable of a 1440×900 resolution that looks great with Sony's proprietary XBrite technology. Therefore unfortunately you'll lose a little bit on those bluray disks that are 1180 if you're watching it though the notebook's screen. Not a huge loss in my opinion but strengthens the argument that this notebook should be integrated into an entertainment center.

With the two large hard drives and window's vista home premium's features this would be a viable option. You could even use it as a DVR and record high definition programming.

One downside I've found with this notebook is poor battery life at about 1.5 hours. The other is its weight. Both of those continue to place this notebook into the entertainment center genre versus the mobile monster genre. Don't expect to take this on the plane and watch more than one short movie. Plus your legs would have fallen asleep due to circulation loss under this behemoth anyway.

3 2.0 USB ports (use these to connect to peripherals like digital cameras, MP3 players and other things)

1 VGA output (this is your standard video output)

1 FireWire (you can use this to download all those home movies from your digital camcorder)

1 S-video (this connects to a projector or some televisions)

1 HDMI jack (use this to send that HD bluray signal from your sweet entertainment center laptop to you huge bravia HD tv)

1 PCMCIA

1 Sony Memory card reader (for Sony's proprietary brand of solid state memory…. I hope you have a Sony digital camera…)

1 audio out jack / 1 mic in jack

1 digital audio out (hooray entertainment center)

1 modem jack

Lots of connectivity options here. Starting at the top the 3 USB ports are standard with a side and back mixture none too intrusive. The HDMI out is really nice and almost a necessity since this notebook plays blurays. Mine works great and it even gets you around the whole “screen only plays upto 720p” thing, because hopefully your television can render a “true HD” picture.

The memory card thing is a little bit of a let down. It isn't too hard for Sony to include a 5 in 1 I don't know why they don't. They already won the BluRay versus HD DVD thing now they have to take over solid state memory too?

In conclusion the Sony VAIO VGN-AR730E/B is an excellent option for those that want a notebook that can act as the central processing unit of a strong media center. It isn't very mobile and you're not going to want to lug it too far. But it is capable of strong gaming and video. It would look nice in a dorm room and function well there. It's not going to be ideal for the office environment – too many distractions and it would be a bit of a waste there. So in the end, if you need a notebook for the living room and have the coin to spare, I would pick up a Sony VAIO VGN-AR730E/B.

A Product Review of the Best Selling 15.4″ Toshiba Satellite A215-S5857 Laptop

Budget level laptops are outselling many of the more expensive options the manufactures are offering these days. This can be attributed partly because of the slowing economy and partly because hardware manufactures like Intel are producing more and more powerful processors at an inexpensive price making more powerful budget notebooks. The Toshiba Satellite A205-S5841 15.4″ Laptop falls into this budget notebook category and I've gotten my hands on one. In this review I'm going to let you know what you can expect out of it and if it is worth your money. Let's begin with the basics.

Hardware:

Operating system: Windows Vista Home Premium

Display: 15.4″ LCD

Processor: 1.73 GHz Intel Pentium T2370 dual-core

Storage: 160GB

RAM: 2GB of RAM (cannot be expanded)

Optical Drive: an integrated CD burner R/RW with dual layer DVD +/- R RW burner

Video Card: An Integrated Intel GMA X3100 (which steals 256mb of system ram to use)

This budget Toshiba comes in their current trend color onyx blue. The screen is great, and glossy. This Toshiba is fairly mobile and isn't too bulky. It is made from the same “shell” as their more expensive offerings. The differences here clearly start with the motherboard. This notebook comes loaded with 2 GB of ram which is fine for this level of notebook, however it isn't expandable. So if you plan to use this laptop for a long period of time, you won't be able to upgrade the RAM down the road, just something to keep in mind. Also the processor is only a 1.73 which does just fine for the majority of applications but don't expect to play any graphically intensive games. The video card seals the deal with the gaming limitations. It is integrated and shares its memory with the system RAM.

The battery life is average on this notebook and the hard drive actually has a good amount of space for what this notebook is being designed for. Lets get to the connectivity.

Connectivity:

Integrated WiFi (to connect to wireless networks)

4 2.0 USB ports (to connect your iPod, digital camera, printer or whatever else you may have)

1 FireWire (connect your notebook to another PC or to transfer digital video from your camcorder)

1 VGA (use this to connect to computer monitors)

1 S-Video (this can connect to some TV's but it is mostly for connecting your notebook with projectors)

1 audio out / mic in (self explanatory)

ExpressCard (for connecting things like a Bluetooth adaptors, which you'll need to buy since this notebook isn't integrated with it)

It has a good amount of connectivity for a “budget” notebook. I like that it has 4 USB ports, which is 1 more than standard. I do wish it had integrated Bluetooth. You may want to invest in an external Bluetooth module to add on if you decide to purchase this notebook. With that you'll be able to use Bluetooth enabled peripherals like mice and keyboards (wirelessly) as well as being able to sync with your phone.

Although I have been critical of it for $600 this is a great notebook. It will please just about any casual user. It will do plenty of work on the road and download plenty of songs to listen to and movies to watch. The only things it won't really do are graphic editing and intensive gaming. Watch for this one to drop pretty low when things slow down in the summer. If it does I would hop on it.
