These days, under water photography is fun for everybody. Thanks to the range of equipment obtainable now a days. On the beach or pool, in the waves the reef, there are huge water proof like point and click cameras and even one use models that one can use for getting good picture, provided if someone follows few simple tips. For that lot of talent and equipment needed for specialized under water photography and many scuba training programs have good Photography courses. But if you want to come home from where it’s wet with some cool photos, here are some tips to get you started. The best time to take underwater photos is usually mid-day because the sun is overhead and will illuminate underwater subjects clearly. Draftee under water photographers are often astonished how rapidly light and colour get lost after plunging few feet underneath the surface. Most water proof point-and-shoot models got kobe shoes fitted flash and people can use flash anytime and more than a few feet below the water. Handy tips: Distance can be deceptive as well. If it is viewed through a facade, the objects may emerge closer than they truly are. Confirm to get closer to the subject as probably before taking a photograph. Try to keep an eye out behind on the subject. While directing in just a beautiful fish, want a jellyfish hovering toward dwyane wade shoes backside. Water proof cameras do have well fittings for wet and sandy times. At the time of kobe v rainstorms one can take some very interesting photographs through lebron shoes a waterproof camera howard shoes and other smart photographers leave their luxurious SLR at home when they go to the beach. Salt water and sand are two of the most horrible enemies of all kind of camera, so by using a shutter model makes a lot of sense and may assist to avoid costly repairs. Good seminars for tips and method: At famous seminars related to techniques of underwater Photography, people hardly talk about underwater device or the tendencies of sea creatures and how to get in the water. Photographing is matched with an egg. There are many good underwater studios that are really made for photographers. Now a day’s many dry-land studio photographers those who know about multiple-light systems seem to overlook all about it when they go diving. Most of them use one strobe over the camera, aimed directly ahead.

Street photography is one of my personal favorite forms. You never know who will pass by. Each person has a story to tell and at that moment in time, a snapshot and pause.

Danny Santos includes shots from the street and a collection of amazing portraits.

TNTD: What are some of the funny and memorable reactions from your street
photography expeditions?

Danny Santos : I haven't really had any funny moments or misfortunes so far primarily because I've always tried to be very quick and discrete when shooting candids, and polite when shooting posed portraits.

TNTD: Who and what circumstances can you describe as strange/confused or outright weird?

Danny Santos: I can't categorize any as weird, but I did get an email from a disgruntled boyfriend of one of my candid subjects that they found the shot kinda creepy, so he requested the photo be taken offline. I apologized, explained what I was doing, and took the photo down respectfully from my flickr page. A few minutes later, the girlfriend (the subject in the photo) emailed me back saying she thought it was cool and requested if I could put it back up again. I was like “uhm… why not.” :)

TNTD: Recognize that folks like photojojo have recommended the sign which says “can i take your portrait it will only take 5 seconds?”

In your experience in Singapore, for every 10 people how many agree and how many decline?

Danny Santos: I guess a fair estimate would be about 2 or 3 out of 10 people decline. Although I'm very selective in who I shoot – I usually pick those whom I think are quite comfortable and confident with how they look so that pretty much helps my chances of getting a 'yes'.

TNTD: If you have a dream street shoot, where and under what circumstance?

Danny Santos: I have a lot of dream shoots… like shooting portraits of strangers in the rain, or shooting candids with light strobes a la Philip-Lorca Dicorcia's Heads, or maybe even orchestrating a street shot with models like Jeff Wall.

There's so much stuff I would like to do :)

TNTD: What are some unwritten rules of street photography according to Danny Santos?

- The perfect street moment comes only once in a blue moon, but when it comes to you, it's worth the wait. So have the patience of a saint.

- To capture that truly unexpected moment, sometimes you have to be unexpected yourself. Be discreet by blending in the crowd

- Great street photographers like Garry Winogrand, Daido Moriyama, and Trent Parke are very trigger-happy shooters. Learn from them. Never hesitate, just shoot.

- The fear will never go away. Just learn to deal with it. Shoot through the fear.

- Relentlessly look for inspiration. The more you immerse yourself with great photos, the higher your expectations of your own photos will be.

TNTD:. 3 Things you didn't know about Photographer Danny Santos II

a. I used to smoke 2 packs a day. It's been 4 years since my last cig.

b. My dream lens is the Nikon 24mm f1.4G. I hope to get my hands on it someday.

c. I'm a big movie buff. One of my favorite movies is the Swedish movie 'Let the Right One In'. I've read the book and seen the movie so many times that I can now watch it without subtitles.

I'll be posting a follow up blog on Danny Santos II with more photos.

Lenovo IdeaPad Y560d: Multimedia Laptop Goes 3D

The 3D laptops keep rolling out. This time from Lenovo, who's outfitted the IdeaPad Y560 notebook with an extra dimension in the Y560d. It's got the same Core i7 goodness, a 15.6-inch (1366×768) display, and starts at $1200. Not shabby!

Of course, you'll have to upgrade if you want that Core i7, ATI Radeon HD5730 1GB graphics, or 750GB hard drive; the starting price sticks you with a still decent Core i3 processor, Intel's not-so-great integrated graphics, and a 250GB hard drive. Even the 3D panel, software, and glasses are extra options, meaning that it's going to quite a bit more to outfit the Y560d for a full 3D multimedia experience.

It also would've been nice to see 3D Blu-ray compatibility and Nvidia Optimus technology for easy graphics switching. While there's not much 3D Blu-ray content to choose from currently, it'd be nice to be a little more future-rpoof.

Still: it's early days for 3D laptops, and everyone's still figuring out what exactly consumers want—including consumers. If it's a relatively affordable 3D multimedia notebook that can be tricked out to the gills, the Y560d might just be onto something.

I have been looking at a hybrid netbook online, it says it came out june 1st, does anybody know where to buy it or how much it costs

Lenovo became one of the earliest large PC builders with a 3D notebook today with the addition of the IdeaPad Y560d. Its approach is very different from the Toshiba model as it doesn't use the more common NVIDIA approach. Instead, it uses a rarer TriDef 3D approach that allows ATI graphics for the stereoscopic 3D effect, using up to a Mobility Radeon HD 5730.

Storage is also new on the gaming-focused system: Lenovo's in-house RapidDrive merges a regular hard drive with a small SSD to boot as much as two thirds faster or copy and load files roughly twice as fast. The main disk tops out at 750GB where the SSD can peak at 64GB.

At its maximum, the 15.6-inch portable can use up to a 1.86GHz quad Core i7, 8GB of RAM and a Blu-ray drive for watching 3D movies. Battery life is short, however, at a maximum of five hours with integrated graphics.

Prices start at $1,200 for the notebook. Lenovo hasn't detailed what this includes, but a minimum configuration starts out simple with a dual-core 2.13GHz Core i3, a 250GB drive without RapidDrive, Intel's integrated video and usual complements such as 802.11n Wi-Fi and a webcam. Shipments should start toward the end of the month.

Interchangeable Magnetic Photo Cube You Make in Minutes

I have taken some Pix in the last weeks – please tell me what you think:

Scenes from Darth's Orange Battle by Baron von Beerfest

Photo bracelets are fun to make and very unique. There are many different ways to make them, all of which start with tiny holders for the photo. You can find many different bitty frames at a craft store. Some are made as charms that you normally hang on a charm bracelet, others are just tiny frames that crafters can use to attach to magnets, scrapbooks and other projects.

The size and style of the bracelet you make will decide the size of frame you need. One easy bracelet is done by using stretch cord and beads. Measure a piece of cord, the approximate size of your wrist, as well as a couple of extra inches for tying. Thread the charm-type picture frame onto the cord, then begin stringing the beads on one side. Match the pattern and the amount of beads and string them onto the opposite side. Tie. Squirt glue into the hole of one bead, on the under-wrist side of the bracelet, and position the knot inside the bead. This will conceal the knot and make the bracelet look more professional.

Measure three pieces of cord, each the size of your wrist measurement, plus a couple of inches for tying. String any pattern of beads onto the cord, choosing beads that aren't too bulky or strangely shaped. After you've strung the beads stretch them over something that is the approximate size of your wrist, like a coffee cup, glue bottle, or another object. Align the beads to where the three strands are butted together and the tied part of the strings are positioned together.

Choose a picture frame that is the approximate length of the three strands together. Place glue on the back perimeter of the picture frame, after inserting the picture, then glue it over the place where the ends are tied together. This makes a cute bracelet that any mom or grandmother would love. And, you can use four or five strands, too. Choose the size you want the bracelet to be then select a frame, with no loop for hanging, to attach to the bracelet. The same designs can be done to make a choker-type necklace to match.

A different design is done with a piece of fabric or vinyl. Choosing vinyl will allow you to omit the sewing. If you'll be making a fabric bracelet, cut a strip that's a couple of inches longer than the circumference of your wrist. Stitch edges and ends. Apply snaps or velcro. Attach the photo frame to the top wrist portion of the band. If you're using colored vinyl, just install the preferred closure and glue on the picture frame. It's very easy to make a matching choker – just cut the fabric or vinyl longer.

One other idea is to braid leather strips together to make the bracelet or necklace. You can purchase hardware to make a metallic closure or make the pieces where they tie together. Use fabric glue to attach the mini frame to the braid. Charm bracelets are everywhere but homemade picture bracelets and necklaces are rare. You'll be the talk of the town when everyone sees yours, and your loved ones will be thrilled to see how much they mean to you.

I didn't read through the comments before posting mine last night, but now that I have, I'm bothered.

First off, it is offensive. Although its not a straight-up caricature as done in early black and white film (see Mickey Rooney is Breakfast at Tiffany's or this commercial http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jCKxWQCs3f0) the fact of the matter is, the image is full of cliche's that non-Asians tie to Asian culture – the severe bob with bangs, the thick elongating eye makeup, and the dress with the Mandarin collar. Just b/c these images are in black and white and you can't see the color yellow, does not take away from the fact that our Sir Karl and his images of "male fantasy" are putting Claudia Schiffer in the guise of what is an "exotic woman." These are still characteristics that most people view as "exotic" and "other." Just as we know she in blackface by the afro wig and painted skin, we know that she is the exotic Asian/other with the traits he chooses to style her in here. It is another form of racism – just evolved, ugly and blanketed under the very thin guise of fashion.

Appropriating or drawing inspiration other cultures to enhance the art form is something that fashion does all the time – whether it be done well (see the Rodarte Fall 2010 collection) or done to incite discussion and attention. What happens the most is the latter, and for the most part, I (and most PoC and some of the readers here) brush it off as what it is, a stupid attention-getting tactic done artlessly. No one wants to waste their time getting riled up about people crying out to be talked about. And really, the racism gets boring after a while, because it does happen so often. You build a thick skin and move on.

When I come to a blog such as TLo's (who are neither Asian or biologically woman) where they so aptly can call out the fact the wackness of images like this (and in other posts) – its a relief. In the rabble of media that excuses this as art, they're one of the few voices that can cut through the quick to say, "bitch, please!"

People are allowed to agree or disagree, but when I read comments dismissing how something like this is not at the heart a racist gesture ekes of so much wrong to me. I am a woman of color, an Asian-American one at that – and yes, these images are boring b/c of how often these tactics are used. But lets not forget that they're also racist, and just because we'e bored, doesn't take away from the fact that they're racist and offensive.

A Product Review of the HP Pavilion DV6830US 15.4″ Laptop: A Mid Range Consumer Notebook

{Zähne selber bleachen – Tipps

The HP Pavilion DV9812US is marketed by HP as an entertainment notebook. With an exceptional screen clarity and strong performance is it too good to be true? With this review I'm going to decide if it lives up to the hype and what sort of notebook user can expect to get the most out of it. I'll start first by giving you the basics.

Hardware:

Display: 17″ LCD

Imaging: Integrated web cam

Processor: 64 2.0 GHz AMD Turion X2 TL-60 dual-core

RAM: 3 GB (with room for 4)

Storage: 250GB Hard Drive

Optical Drive: CD R/RW with integrated Dual layer DVD R +/- drive

Graphics Card: Nvidia GeForce 7150M

Demensions: 15.16″ x 11.22″ x 1.65″

Weight: 7.7lbs

Additonal Equipment Included: Remote control, earphones

Right out of the box the first thing I notice are the strange wave designs on the exterior. I'm not a huge fan of these new laptop designs that the manufactures are slapping on their notebooks. This one isn't as obtrusive but these designs tend to dull with normal usage. Once powering it on the 17″ WXGA BrightView screen looks amazing. HP's aren't typically known for their especially clear screens but this one is right on point. The resolution is higher than your typical notebook running at 1440×900. It has a solid video card and you notice it.

It does a great job watching movies or HD downloaded content. The 3GB of ram is adequate and I've had little trouble multitasking. I've had movies running in the background and flashy heavy pages in the foreground without this thing grinding to a halt. That also has a little to do with the nice 64 bit AMD that is powering this notebook. The HP Pavilion DV9812US does come with a remote control, but you should no its worthless unless you're watching a movie. And only then you need to be watching it in certain programs. You won't be able to use it for like youtube movies for example. It doesn't really bother me because I don't ever use these laptop remotes anyway, however if you're using this as a mini-entertainment center it might bother you.

Games of medium intensity run fine on this notebook. Most games in fact run fine on this notebook, although it wouldn't be the main reason I would purchase it.

Also it is bulky and heavy at about 8lbs. So this notebook isn't going anywhere to frequently unless you want to bulk up those back muscles. So don't expect to take this to all your classes. Well that's it for the performance let's get to the connection options the HP Pavilion DV9812US has.

Connectivity:

4 2.0 USB 2.0 inputs (You can use these to connect your MP3 player, printer, digital camera or whatever)

1 FireWire port (you can transfer video from your digital camcorder using this)

1 S Video (use this to connect to the projector in the office)

2 audio out and 1 mic in

5 in1 card reader (use this to insert the memory from your digital cameras or other portable devices like SD cards and memory sticks.)

1 Ethernet Jack

1 VGA (use this to connect to a standard computer monitor)

1 Modem Jack

Integrated b/g wireless (standard WiFi fare)

I like that it has the 4 USB ports (opposed to the standard 3) and they're placed in nice spots, nothing too intrusive (they're not going to interfere with any external mouse usage). A true sign of a multimedia notebook is the 2 audio out jacks. You'll probably want to use them because the speakers are subpar. Again that is especially if you're using this notebook as an entertainment center.

I foresee those that the ones most happy with the HP Pavilion DV9812US notebook are those that wouldn't mind having a desktop but need the desk space. Or maybe those that are in the office and need occasional mobility for work. Otherwise I would look for something a little lighter, which can easily be found without really reducing screen size too much. It has a lot of options that if you're interested in mobility you can just do without. Also the battery life isn't stellar on this notebook so don't expect to hit the road too hard with it.

Sony is one of the top selling notebook manufacturers in the market today. With notebooks out pacing desktop sales the mid range notebook is a highly competitive market. The economy is slowing and we're seeing stiff competition for consumers. It may be the time to strike but which notebook is right for you? I've got my hands on the Sony VAIO VGN-FZ240N/B 15.4″ Laptop and I'm going to let you know what its load with and what you can expect out of it. I'll start with some of the basics.

Hardware:

Imaging: Integrated Web Cam

Display: 15.4″ LCD

Processor: 2.0 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo T7250

Storage: 250 GB hard drive (Serial ATA)

RAM: 2 GB RAM (expandable up to 4GB of RAM)

Optical Drive: A CD R/RW with integrated DVD +/- R RW dual layer DVD burner

OS: Windows Vista Business

Weight: 5.75 lbs

This is a good midrange entry from Sony. I like that the body is made of a Magnesium alloy, it really feels sturdy to the touch and stays very cool. It is fairly light weight for a 15″ notebook and has a good low profile. The battery life however seems to be about average.

The good news though is that it is a fairly powerful notebook. The 2.0ghz T7250 is a great processor and enables the user to do a great deal of multitasking. The video card is integrated and derives it's video memory from the system memory, so the 2GB of RAM gets a little stretched. You'll be able to play medium intensity games, but don't expect to crank up the graphics to 11 and see smooth rendering. Though since it is a mid range notebook I hope that no one intends on doing that anyway.

The storage space is good, you can get about as many songs and movies as I would expect you would need at one time on the 250GB drive. That being said I would immediately clear out much of Sony's preinstalled trial ware. Much of it runs in the system tray or background and slows things down. Many of the programs don't even offer much that isn't already included in Windows Vista to begin with. It is just a nuisance and Sony is notorious for it.

Connectivity:

3 2.0 USB (use these to connect your digital camera, iPod, or printer)

1 FireWire (to connect to a digital camcorder and download your digital home movies)

1 VGA output (output to a standard monitor)

1 S-Video (output to a projector or supported TV)

ExpressCard

Memory Stick and SD card slots

Integrated WiFi

Integrated Blue tooth

Ethernet Port

Modem Port

The connectivity is standard and I see everything I expected. I think that it is clear that Sony was designing a very mobile device but trying to inject a little more power. I think they've succeeded; this notebook remains mobile but has a great processor and large hard drive. This is almost the perfect notebook. This price is a little high but that's how Sony rolls. Unlike Apple however Sony will occasionally issue price reductions, so I would keep an eye on this one and look for it to dip in the summer when the market slows and the stimulus checks start to roll in.

What makes Ronaldinho one of the most successful soccer players in world today? Is it his skills with the soccer ball? His uncommon techiniques to impress the fans with the way he dribbles around the soccer field? The fact that he has appeared in many Nike commercials? His good looks? Or the fact that he has won many “World Player of the Year” awards?

The answer is: all of the above, and more. Ronaldinho, or as he is known in Brazil, Ronaldinho Gaucho, has been in the public eye since 1999, but it wasn't until around 2002, when this great Brazilian star “got his break”. Since then, the star of Ronaldinho Gaucho has only been getting bigger and bigger through the years.

Ronaldinho first became famous in Brazil under the name Ronaldinho (little Ronaldo) Gaucho (meaning he is from the Brazilian state Rio Grande do Sul), in order not to be confused with another Brazilian soccer star, Ronaldo (formally known as Ronaldinho in Brazil). However, when Ronaldo moved to Europe, he became well known only as Ronaldo, allowing Ronaldinho Gaucho to drop the “Gaucho” and be well known only as Ronaldinho.

In his adult life, Ronaldinho has been in three major soccer teams including Brazil's Gremio, France's Paris Saint-Germain, and Spain's always great Barcelona.

He is also one of a very few number of players to ever “play at every footballing level, for he has played at under 15, under 17, under 20, under 23, and senior level. He made his first ever appearance for Brazil playing against Scotland on 7 March1995 in an under 15s match, Brazil lost the game 1-0.” en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ronaldinho. He was also part of the first Brazilian team to ever win the under 17s championship, which took place in Egypt, 1997.

He then went on to become a part of the under 20s Brazilian team that played on the Fifa World Cup in 1999, and eventually made his first appearance in Brazil's national team that same year in the 1999 Copa America, in which Brazil won.

Since then, Ronaldinho has collected many awards such as “FIFA World Player of the Year” in 2004 and 2005, “World Soccer Player of the Year”, also in 2004 and 2005, “FIFPro World Player of the Year” in 2005 and 2006, “UEFA Clube Footballer of the Year” in 2005 and 2006, and many many others.

Ronaldinho's personality has also helped him become the star he is today. Even with top name awards under his belt, he still remains a very humble, down to earth guy. When asked about his status as the number one soccer player in the world, he simply said: “I don't even feel I'm the best at Barça.” (Barcelona), FourFourTwo magazine.

So there we go, Ronaldinho has clearly made his mark in the world of soccer, and continues to be a great star representing Brazil in a world wide level. What does the future have in store for Ronaldinho? His contract with Barcelona ends in 2010, other than that, all we have to do is simply just keep watching, as this boy from Rio Grande do Sul keeps re-writing soccer history.

Hello there from N.C. State, where I finally overcome some internet issues (operator error, no doubt) to get on line and provide updates from tonight’s game between Hoggard and North Mecklenburg for the 4-A state girls soccer championship.

We’ve got about 8 minutes left in the first half and North Meck is leading 1-0 on a goal by Alison Stearns in the 11th minute.

Other than the goal – which came on a play in which Stearns settle a ball 18 yards out from the goal, turned and fired a shot high into far corner of the net — the game has been remarkably even. And well-played. Hoggard has had its share of chances, including a cornerjust a moment ago, but as yet, it has yet to cash in. …

I thought the NCHSAA had rules about uniformity. Apparently not. Otherwise, the Vikings’ Sarah Clinard wouldn’t be allowed to wear those gl0w-in-the-dark green shoes she’s wearing with her white and light blue uniform. Clinard isn’t the only one making a fashion statement with her feet. North Meck’s Lisa Myers is wearing a pair of even brighter yellow soccer boots. …

Hoggard’s Blythe Rhodes just prevented some further damage in the final minute of the first half by racing to block a shot by North Meck’s Carly Williamson after Williamson had somehow found a seam in the Vikings’ defense and was wide open directly in front of goalie Sarah Downing. …

It’s halftime and Hoggard still trails 1-0.  …

By the way, FYI … both teams are nicknamed the Vikings,  the school colors for both are blue and white and both are trying to win their first state girls’ soccer title. …

Second half underway and North Meck got the first real chance right off the bat. Hoggard was outshot 4-3 in the first half. …

Hoggard’s defense has definitely started tightening up and the Vikings are steadily pushing the ball upfield and building an attack. They’ve maintained possession for most of the past few minutes and look determined to get the equalizer. …

31 minutes still left … not time to panic yet. …

Coach John Teller is changing things up by putting Olivia Robertson, Madyson Marshburn and Caitlin Whitehead into the lineup. Looking for a little more offense, perhaps? …

It’s starting to get physical out there, but the ref is letting them play on. That’s good news for Hoggard, which is clearly the aggressor right now. The Vikings have North Meck back on its heels .  …

Kristin Busby just made a great run that would have resulted in a goal had the North Meck goalie not beaten her to the ball at the last moment. …

And now an exquisite cross by Christy Murphy that sailed just over Busby’s head as she came flying through the box. 23 minutes left. Still 1-0 North Meck. …

Morgan Edwards and Kelsey Hamm back in for Hoggard. 20:37 left …

HOGGARD GOAL!!!!

The Vikings were finally rewarded for pressing the attack for nearly the entire second half.  The goal came off a free kick from about 35 yards out. Left back Morgan Tilley put a beautiful ball into the box, where Madyson Marshburn outjumped two North Meck defenders for the perfect header into the back fo the net with 19:01 left. …

Hoggard is right back on the attack, nearly scoring again on a scrum in the box. The Vikings also had another free kick from about the same spot as the one that led to the goal, but this one was blocked by the North Meck wall. …

Clock  stopped with 12:30  to go for an injured North Meck player. … The good news is that Melissa Williams is coming off the field on her own and looks to be okay. …

Ten minutes left and Hoggard is still pressing the attack. The Vikings look like the fresher team right now, illustrated by the way Liz Lace just blew past the North Meck defense, forcing goalie Emily Rusk to come way out of her box to beat her to the ball. …

Hoggard corner with 7 1/2 to go …

A good effort, but Hailey Piepmeyer’s kick from about 5 yards out to the right of the goal sailed high, over the net. …

Hoggard goalie with a potential game-saving play. With North Meck’s Morgan Byrne racing in to pick up a loose ball in the box, Downing came sliding out to smother the ball and keep the game tied at 1. Give Downing credit. It’s tough to be standing back there watching for as long as she has with the ball at the other end of the field and then suddenly be tested. But she came up big …

Three minutes left. Looks like we might be heading to overtime. …

Downing with a routine save on a long shot by Byrne. Then again, can any save be called routine with less than two minutes left in a tie game for the state title? …

Looks like North Meck is getting its second wind. …

End of regulation, Hoggard 1, North Mecklenburg 1. … We’re headed for overtime. …

The format is two 10 minute periods, to be played no matter how many goals are scored. If we’re still tied after that, we’ll play two five-minute sudden death periods. After that, it’s the dreaded shootout. I don’t think it’s going to come to that that, though. …

Shots in the second half: North Meck 3, Hoggard 1. The Vikings are being outshot 7-4 for the game. But that’s not the stat that counts. …

Olivia Robertson came about an inch from scoring the go-ahead goal with 7:30 left in the first overtime. Her shot from close range was headed inside the left post, but goalie Emily Rusk dove in to save it at the last second. Even after she stopped it, the ball still amost rolled over the goal line. It was so close that several Hoggard players raised their hands thinking it was in. …

Now a near-miss for North Meck as Stearns, the goal-scorer, launched a high shot just over the net …

North Meck has taken the attack away from the Vikings. It has threatened a couple of times here in overtime since Hoggard’s close call. Fatigue and humidity may be starting to take its toll …

That’s the end of the first overtime, and the break couldn’t come at a better time for Hoggard. The Vikings are starting to look tired and can use the break. Even though it’s only a short one. …

The teams have switched ends and we’re playing in the second overtime. Not trying to be a naysayer, but both goals so far have been scored in the net at which North Meck is currently shooting. …

Hoggard’s Morgan Tilley is down. Looks like a leg cramp. That’s a tough loss for the Vikings. Not only is she a top defender, but she’s also great on those long free kicks … like the one she served up to Marshburn for the Hoggard goal.

Two golden opportunites for Hoggard with 6 minutes left in the second OT. The first one came on a free kick by Marshburn from just outside the box. It looked ticketed for the top far corner, but goalie Rusk punched it over the crossbar. Then off the ensuing corner kick, Rusk came up big again on a shot from close range. …

With 3 1/2 left another close call. This time Marshburn, in a full sprint, blocked a clearing attempt by the goalie. The  ball caromed off her back toward the net and trickled just outside the far goal post. …

Great stuff here! …

The Hoggard fans in the stands are going crazy as the Vikings contiue to press the issue. Then, just like that, North Meck’s Katherine Rusk got behind the Hoggard defense and rocketed one just wide ride with 1 minute left in the second OT. …

And we’re going to sudden death! …

Whew! …

Next goal wins. Sudden death has begun. …

That’s the end of the first 5-minute golden goal period. Five more minutes to go, then penalty kicks. Man, that’s a horrible way of deciding a championship game. I know it’s not good for a reporter on deadline, but I wish they’d let them play until somebody scores a goal … no matter how long it takes. That’s the only fair way of doing it. …

Second sudden death period off and running, and just 30 seconds in Busby fires a shot from the top of the box and sails it high. …

And  Busby gets another chance, arriving a split second late before Rusk comes out and knocks the ball away. …

Now skill is taken out of the equation and it becomes a matter of luck.  We’re going to penalty kicks. …

How even is it?  Both teams have 10 shots. Both goalies have four saves. Hoggard has 4 corners to 3 for North Meck. …

Hoggard will go first in the shootout. There are five rounds. I’ll keep you posted as the shots are taken. …

First up, Hoggard’s Kristin Busby. GOAL!!!!

North Meck’s Byrne … Goal

Next up for Hoggard, CHelsea DeLiberto … GOAL!!!!

North Mecks’ McAnaulty, goal

And Hoggards Tilly SCORES!!!

North Meck’s Robinson scores .. 3-3

Hoggard’s Piepmeyer is denied by goalie Rusk. Vikings in trouble

But wait, North Meck’s Williamson hits the cross bar and Hoggard’s Marshbun SCORES!!!!!

Rusk, the goalie’s sister scores to tie it at 4. .. and we go to sudden death in the shootout.

Next up for Hoggard, Liz Lace… GOAL!!!!

Lyndey Byrne scores for North Meck ..

Whitehead up for Hoggard .. GOAL!!!

Shalon keeps it alive for North Meck

Rhodes is stopped by Rusk. Uh oh …

And Christy Murphy, the girl with the yellow shoes, scores in the eighth round of the shootout to give the state title to North Meck.

Just a terrible way to end the game and the season. It’s a shame it came down to that. Hoggard deserved better.

The Rock Bridge girls soccer team advanced to the title game of the Class 3, District 9 tournament with a 3-0 victory over tournament host Timberland on Tuesday in Wentzville.

The Bruins (10-11-2) will play Troy Buchanan (9-11-1) at 5 p.m. Thursday in Wentzville in the championship game. Troy Buchanan beat Hickman 3-0 in the late semifinal Tuesday. The Kewpies end their season at 7-12.

Lexi Bumby* scored twice for Rock Bridge in the victory over Timberland. She netted the Bruins first goal off a throw-in from Brett Fuller in the 22nd minute of the first period. She scored her second goal in the 60th minute of the second period, rebounding a shot on goal by Mary Bowman.

Kelsey Reimler had the other Rock Bridge goal, scoring off a Morgan Pitchford in the 45th minute. Goalkeeper Carrie Levy earned the shutout with four saves.

This review will be looking at Fujitsu's P7230 ultraportable. This tiny system is part of a new crop of ultraportable's that use LED backlighting in order to get great display performance while maintaining a long battery life. That is the main technological achievement of the system but it is by no means all it has going for it. The P7230 is built on an ultra mobile platform that includes an Intel Core Solo U1400 processor, an optical drive, and a 10.6" display. This smaller format factor allows for a very light weight and great portability but limits the power of the system as well as aspects that affect usability, like the size of the keyboard.

Stay unplugged longer with the new FUJITSU LifeBook M2010 Li-ion Battery. This 10.8V Rechargeable Li-ion battery can replace the original system battery or be used as a spare. FUJITSU computer batteries life (and recharge times) will vary based on many factors including screen brightness, applications, features, power management, battery conditioning and other customer preferences.  http://www.laptop-batteries.com.au/fujitsu-computer-battery.htm

Fujitsu has dabbled in ultra-ultraportable machines for a while now, having released the LifeBook U810 and U820 tablet PCs. Now the company is ready to take baby steps into the netbook market, with its M2010. To be honest, though, this isn’t the bold move that Fujitsu should have–or could have–made.
Fujitsu’s M2010, according to company spokespeople, is geared a bit more toward kids. While not exactly child-size, the machine’s keys seem reminiscent of the keyboard on the 10-inch Acer Aspire One: a little on the smaller side, but with perfectly serviceable buttons (fujitsu fpcbp216ap computer batteires). At least the arrow keys are large on the M2010. And you’ll need them–though the touchpad has a nice, textured surface, its size is about average for a netbook. That’s hardly a crime, but since we’re seeing new netbooks (like the Toshiba NB205) crop up with larger touchpads, I’m greedy and I want to see more, if only for the sake of my aching hands.  http://www.cheap-laptop-batteries.com/laptop-battery/fujitsu-stylistic-st6012.htm
As for the screen, colors popped. Despite having the same screen size and glare-inducing coating as the Toshiba, and a slightly lower resolution (1024 by 576 pixels), the M2010 produced colors that seemed a little more vibrant and didn’t get lost in the shadows.

Overall, the design of the Fujitsu M2010 is uninspired. Its two-tone, hard-plastic case can be eye-catching, depending on the color you order (our flashy red unit drew a couple of double takes here at the office), but this 2.5-pound netbook doesn’t look much different from other models on the market. Its configuration–three USB ports (asus Eee PC 1101HA laptop battery), an SDHC card reader, a Webcam, one VGA-out, ethernet, and headphone and microphone jacks–is fairly standard, too.

Fujitsu doesn’t add much to the mix beyond Bluetooth and a few bits of bundled software. Roxio Creator LJ saves files out to external drives, as does the simple but extremely effective MyRecovery software (a three-button interface for creating and restoring system backups). Otherwise, you get the standard-issue Windows XP netbook experience (Microsoft Works, 60-day trial of Microsoft Office and all).   http://www.laptop-battery.org.uk/

The performance? Let’s just say that it’s fairly average in some cases. The guts of this wee PC vary little from those of most netbooks, consisting of a 1.6GHz Intel Atom N270 CPU, 1GB of RAM, and a 160GB 5400-rpm hard drive. And with a score of 34 on WorldBench 6, it falls right in line with the performance of most current netbooks. The battery life dragged down its score the most. Fujitsu claims that the M2010’s three-cell battery hangs on for 2.5 hours, but it was more like 2 hours, 5 minutes in our tests. That’s a far cry from what we’ve seen from machines like the Samsung N110, which lasted for over 8 hours in the same test conditions.  http://www.cheap-laptop-batteries.com/laptop-battery/fujitsu-fpcbp208ap.htm
In the end, Fujitsu didn’t produce a bad machine–just a fairly average one. In a market already brimming with wannabes, I would have liked to see Fujitsu deliver more-daring designs, such as what it did with the U810, the U820, and the N7010 (which embedded a second touchscreen into an all-purpose portable). Plenty of other netbooks offer better performance for less. Might I suggest the Asus Eee PC 1008HA?

I taken a lot of Pictures in the last days – please tell me your thoughts:

California Oranges on the Vine in San Diego, California by Scandblue

    from here

I was pleasantly surprised at the number of 6.0- megapixel digital cameras I found for $200.00 or less. I did check several major retail stores to find these cameras and although there are many good prices available, I had to narrow my search to a specific type of digital camera and decided to go with a 6.0-megapixel camera. This should give anyone wanting to start photography or the very experienced photographer a wonderful camera for a great price.

Six megapixels are actually considered as a “professional” level camera. I also decided to give many options in brand names, so I highlighted ten different brands of cameras. I did not include a sale price in any of the featured cameras, although some were actually on sale when I did the research. There are a couple of cameras that I found at a permanently reduced price, but this is not supposed to be a sale price. I think most of us are all familiar with one retail giant’s term, “price rollback”. Therefore as good as some of these prices are for such high megapixels, you can certainly find many of these on sale for less between now and the holidays. I was quite excited to find such a diverse list of good quality cameras for the price and I know I would love to receive any one of these as a gift! (Hint, hint!) I’m just kidding…..no really, I’m kidding!

La Photographie N'est Pas L'art (“Photography is Not Ar”’) is a limited edition facsimile reprint of a book that was originally published by Guy Levis-Mano in France in 1937. The book is composed of twelve loose-leaf photographs within a portfolio style slipcase and includes a short, poetic text by the surrealist artist Andre Breton entitled ‘convulsionaires’. The collection is a conceptual work that encapsulates a wide range of subject matter including fashion, nature, architecture and portraiture.
